About Course

Certified Transplant Pharmacist (CTXP) course is a program that prepares pharmacists to specialize in the care of patients who are donors, candidates, or recipients of solid organ transplants. To become a CTXP, a pharmacist must meet certain eligibility requirements and pass a certification exam administered by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS). A CTXP course may cover topics such as pharmacotherapy, immunology, infectious diseases, organ allocation, and transplant outcomes.

Eligibilities

To be eligible for the CTXP exam, you must meet the following requirements:

Graduation from a pharmacy program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or a program outside the U.S. that qualifies you to practice in the jurisdiction.

A current, active license/registration to practice pharmacy in the U.S. or another jurisdiction.

Demonstration of practice experience in one of three ways: At least four years of Solid Organ Transplantation Pharmacy practice experience after licensure/ registration as a pharmacist within the past seven years, with at least 50% of time spent in the scope defined by the exam content outline; or Successful completion of PGY1 pharmacy residency within the past seven years, plus at least two years of Solid Organ Transplantation Pharmacy practice experience after licensure/registration as a pharmacist with at least 50% of time spent in the scope defined by the exam content outline; or

Successful completion of PGY2 pharmacy residency in Solid Organ Transplantation Pharmacy within the past seven years.
